Local sources report that agents from the Iranshahr Intelligence Office arrested Samad Rigi, a Baluch civil and social activist, at his workplace in Iranshahr’s Bank Melli.
After his detention, authorities took him to his home and entered without a legal warrant. During the raid, mobile phones and personal belongings of his family members were confiscated before Rigi was transferred to the Iranshahr Intelligence Office.
Samad Rigi had previously been arrested in 2021 for exposing a child abuse case in Iranshahr and criticizing the security environment in Sistan and Baluchestan Province. He served three years in prison.
In recent days, he had released an audio recording criticizing the silence and inaction of official institutions, highlighting the cover-up and injustice faced by child victims.
According to civil rights activists, his latest arrest occurred just hours after the publication of this recording, an act they describe as a clear attempt by security authorities to silence voices demanding justice and accountability in Baluchistan.
