Crime Against Humanity in Ilam: Brutal Attack by the IRGC on a Hospital in Ilam and Abduction of the Wounded from the Malekshahi Massacre

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: The attack on a hospital and the abduction of the wounded is an unforgivable crime. The world must not remain silent in the face of crimes against humanity.

On Sunday, (January 4, 2026), on the eighth day of the nationwide uprising, the day after the savage massacre in Malekshahi, Khamenei’s executioners, in a major crime and a blatant violation of international conventions, stormed Khomeini Hospital in Ilam in order to abduct the wounded from the uprising who had been injured by direct gunfire from these very criminals and were hospitalized there.

The repressive forces entered the hospital after firing tear gas inside. For entry into some wards where patients were hospitalized, they were confronted with the admirable resistance of the honorable medical staff, as well as the people and young individuals present there. Doctors and nurses, in order to protect the lives of the wounded, closed the entrances to these wards and tried to prevent the mercenaries from entering.

The honorable people of Ilam and rebellious youth, immediately after learning of this criminal action, gathered around the hospital and, chanting “Bi-sharaf, bi-sharaf” (“Shameless, shameless”), clashed with the mercenaries to prevent the transfer of the wounded. The criminal IRGC forces opened indiscriminate fire toward the people and the hospital.

In this savage assault, a large number of wounded individuals, their families, and people who had gathered to support them were arrested. The families of the wounded and the honorable Lak tribes have warned that if their loved ones are not released, they will take up arms.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, described the attack on the hospital in Ilam as an unforgivable crime and said that Khamenei, helpless in confronting the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, is trying to suppress the protests with maximum cruelty and brutality, but this will only further ignite the flames of the Iranian people’s uprising. She called on the general public and the youth of neighboring provinces to support the people of Ilam and said that the world must not remain silent in the face of crimes against humanity committed by the ruling religious fascism in Iran.
