His tragic death has sparked public outrage and concern over the poor healthcare and inhumane conditions inside Iranian prisons.
Reports indicate that Arman Dahmardeh was imprisoned on theft charges and, despite the closure of his legal case and withdrawal of complaints, he remained unlawfully detained due to deliberate delays and personal hostility by prison officials. He ultimately lost his life after being denied urgent medical care.
Human rights activists are calling for an immediate and transparent investigation into his death and for those responsible within Zabol Prison to be held accountable.
