According to the statement, Pakshan Azizi has been denied access to legal representation and is currently being held in solitary confinement in Evin Prison. Following an unfair and fabricated trial, she has been sentenced to death and now faces the imminent risk of execution.
The U.S. government has called on the Iranian regime to immediately halt her execution, release all political prisoners, and end its campaign of terror against its own people.
The statement further noted that Iran’s systematic use of the death penalty as a tool of political repression demonstrates the regime’s blatant disregard for human rights and international standards. Reports indicate that more than 1,000 executions have taken place in Iran in 2025, with executions continuing at an alarming rate.
The United States reaffirmed its commitment to holding the Iranian regime accountable for these crimes.
