Amirhossein Moradi and Ali Younesi, two imprisoned elite students, released a message as the new academic year begins. In their letter, they stressed:“Books cannot be turned under the weight of repression; this fall still carries the scent of blood from last September and November. Today, universities resemble prisons, and prisons resemble universities.”

The two political prisoners added:“The struggle for freedom links our hands from behind prison bars to inside the universities. Just as prison cells can be turned into arenas of resistance, classrooms too can become centers of defiance.”

They concluded their message with:“Our unbreakable determination will shape Iran’s future: a free, republican, democratic country without executions or torture.”
