Amnesty International has issued a new statement warning about the imminent risk of execution for dozens of prisoners in Iran. Among them is Vahid Bani-Amarian, who has been sentenced to death following an unfair trial and on politically motivated charges handed down by a Revolutionary Court.

The organization stressed that these death sentences have been issued through procedures that violate fair trial standards and breach Iran’s international human rights obligations. Amnesty International urged the Iranian authorities to immediately halt all executions and end the ongoing cycle of violence and the systematic violation of the right to life.
