Arrest of Yasuj Protester Raziyeh Khahesh Raises Concerns Over Detainees’ Safety

Raziyeh Khahesh, a protester from Yasuj, was arrested by security forces on 10 Dey 1404 at Jihad Square in the city.

According to reports received, security agents used physical force during the arrest of this protesting citizen. It is said that Raziyeh Khahesh was present at the location at the time of the arrest and was targeted by the actions of the security forces.

She is currently being held in Yasuj Prison, and so far no official information has been released regarding her physical condition, the charges brought against her, or her access to a lawyer and her family.

The arrest of Raziyeh Khahesh comes amid a continuing wave of crackdowns on protesters during the nationwide demonstrations and has heightened concerns about the situation of detainees in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.
