Nearly four weeks after the arrest of Sima Anbaei Farimani—an actress, poet, and well‑known civil activist from Fariman—she remains in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad under unclear legal conditions and without access to basic rights. She has reportedly been accused of “collaboration with Israel,” among other serious charges.
Nearly four weeks after the arrest of Sima Anbaei Farimani—an actress, poet, and well‑known civil activist from Fariman—she remains in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad under unclear legal conditions and without access to basic rights. She has reportedly been accused of “collaboration with Israel,” among other serious charges.

Anbaei Farimani, 34, is currently held in Ward 6 of Mashhad Central Prison. Since her arrest, she has been denied phone calls and family visits and is being kept under strict security measures. Security agencies have labelled her as one of the “leaders of the protests” in Fariman and have opened a case with multiple heavy charges, including “collaboration with Israel,” “assembly and collusion against national security,” and “insulting the former and current Supreme Leader.”

She was arrested on Monday, 25 Esfand 1404, by police forces. Despite repeated inquiries by her family, judicial authorities,s and prison officials have not provided clear information about the status of her case or allowed her access to legal representation.
