Mohsen Eslamkhah, a 20‑year‑old Kurdish citizen from Bukan who was arrested during the 2022 (1401) protests, has been sentenced to death by Branch One of the Mahabad Revolutionary Court on the charge of Moharebeh. Human‑rights sources report that he was 17 years old at the time of the alleged offence and that his confession was obtained under torture and coercive interrogation in an Intelligence Department facility.

Eslamkhah was denied access to an independent lawyer, and his trial lacked basic fair‑trial standards. Rights groups emphasise that executing someone who was a minor at the time of the alleged act violates Iran’s obligations under the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Two other defendants in the same case have also reportedly received death sentences, reflecting a broader pattern of forced confessions, closed‑door trials, and severe punishments against protesters since 2022.
