Statement of 419 Political Prisoners Supporting the MEK in 63 Prisons and 323 Released Prisoners in Tehran and Other Cities
We, the political prisoners supporting the glorious Mojahedin Organization, from within the dungeons of the inhumane clerical regime, extend our heartfelt congratulations on the 60th anniversary of our beloved Organization to the heroic people of Iran, to the Resistance Units and rebellious youth across the country, to the heroic Ashraf residents as the symbol of steadfastness, to the brave Ashraf supporters around the world, and above all, to the selfless leadership of this Resistance. It was in his name and with salutations to him that the steadfast Mojahedin embraced martyrdom in the 1988 massacre and became eternal.
We salute the founding martyrs — the great Hanif, along with Saeed Mohsen and Ali Asghar Badizadegan — who planted the seed 60 years ago. Through endurance in torture chambers and dark cells, with cries of “Allahu Akbar” and “Long Live Freedom” before firing squads and gallows, and through perseverance against the storms of dictatorship and conspiracies of both Shah and Sheikh, that seed has grown into a mighty tree. With the inexhaustible strength of Iran’s heroic people, it now advances toward uprooting dictatorship once and for all, to bring about a democratic republic, popular sovereignty, independence, and justice. This is the very bond between politics and integrity, as the elected President of the Resistance stated: the goal of the National Council of Resistance is not to seize power, but to transfer it to the people.
Both the Shah’s monarchy and the clerical dictatorship that followed have sought to uproot this tree through imprisonment, torture, and execution, as well as censorship, demonization, and vile conspiracies. Yet the brave sons and daughters of this land, with their lives, have built a bridge toward the people’s victory against all forms of dictatorship, declaring that their lives are not subject to bargaining. Today, the fear shaking the foundations of the clerical regime, and frustrating the remnants of the monarchy, is crystallized in a single name: the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK).
The unholy alliance of Shah and Sheikh against freedom and popular sovereignty has continued for over 120 years — from Sheikh Fazlollah Nouri standing with Mohammad Ali Shah against the Constitutional Revolution, to Kashani siding with the treacherous Shah against Dr. Mossadegh, the leader of the National Movement. Today, the offspring of the deposed Shah and the remnants of the defunct monarchy serve as the lifeline for the clerical regime. Even Khamenei’s faction admitted that monarchist activities were an “opportunity” for the regime, “creating discord among the opposition, providing a service to the Islamic Republic that no other group could achieve” (Vatan Emrooz, February 1, 2025).
The day is not far when, through the uprising of the heroic people, the youth, and the Resistance Units, the palace of tyranny of the anti-Iranian and anti-Islamic clerical regime will collapse, and the prisons inherited from the Shah by the mullahs will once again be opened. These prisons have borne silent witness to the heroism and sacrifices of great revolutionaries such as Ashraf Rajavi, Mousa Khiabani, Fatemeh Amini, Bijan Jazani, Shokrollah Paknejad, tens of thousands of martyrs of the 1980s, and the 30,000 executed in the 1988 massacre.
We, the political prisoners supporting the Mojahedin — whether those imprisoned for over two decades, those arrested in recent months and years, or those sentenced to death awaiting to join Behrouz Ehsani and Mehdi Hassani — on this blessed anniversary of the Mojahedin’s founding, coinciding with the birth of the Prophet of mercy and liberation, once again pledge before God, the people, and the Mojahedin to remain steadfast and combatant until our last breath and last drop of blood in the struggle for freedom of our captive homeland. May we prove worthy to join the eternal caravan of Light and the steadfast martyrs of the Mojahedin.
