UN Human Rights Council in Geneva Warned: Political Prisoners Still Executed in Iran; 1988 Massacre Must Not Be Repeated

At the United Nations Human Rights Council session in Geneva, Saeedeh Mostoufian of the International Association for Women’s Human Rights raised alarm over the ongoing execution of political prisoners in Iran.Recalling the 1988 massacre of political prisoners, she stressed: “Silence in the face of that atrocity must not be repeated.”

Mostoufian urged the Council to act, saying: “The responsibility to prevent further tragedies and protect the lives of political prisoners lies with this body.”
