According to a statement by the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), the number of recorded executions in Iran during the first nine months of 2025 has reached 1,200, surpassing the total of 1,001 executions in all of 2024 — marking a new and alarming record of state violence and repression.
In September 2025, at least 200 prisoners, including six women, were executed — the highest monthly total in the past 36 years. This figure represents 2.5 times more than in September 2024 (84 executions) and seven times more than in September 2023 (29 executions).
The report states that Ali Khamenei began October 2025 with at least 14 executions on Wednesday, October 1 (Mehr 9). The victims were executed in several cities including Kermanshah, Hamedan, Rasht, Sanandaj, Ghezel Hesar, and Isfahan.
Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, condemned this brutal wave of executions, stating:
“Through escalating violence and brutality, the regime seeks to suppress public uprisings. However, these atrocities only strengthen the determination of Iran’s youth and the people to bring about regime change and establish democracy.”
She emphasized that the Iranian regime must be isolated by the international community, and Khamenei and other officials must be brought to justice for decades of crimes against humanity and acts of genocide.
Rajavi further warned that any engagement or political deal with the regime of execution and terror only encourages its continued atrocities inside and outside Iran.
