Political Prisoner Arghavan Fallahi Transferred to Women’s Political Ward of Qarchak Prison

Iran Human Rights Center – Saturday, August 9, 2025 – Political prisoner Arghavan Fallahi, after spending two months in solitary confinement in Fashafouyeh Prison and a subsequent period of transfer to an unknown location, has now been moved to the women’s political prisoners’ ward of Qarchak Prison in Varamin.

This transfer took place after she had endured more than six months of interrogations and severe psychological and physical torture, while her family remained unaware of her whereabouts.

Arrest and Charges

Arghavan Fallahi was arrested on January 26, 2025, in Tehran. The charges brought against her include “propaganda against the state” and “supporting opposition organizations.” Her arrest and interrogations were directly carried out under the supervision of IRGC intelligence agents and the Judiciary’s Intelligence Organization.
