.Deteriorating Health of Political Prisoner Elaheh Fouladi in Qarchak Prison

According to reports, the health condition of political prisoner Elaheh Fouladi, currently held in Qarchak Prison, has worsened due to a heart disease.

Born in 1978 and a mother of one, Elaheh Fouladi was arrested on January 23, 2020, at Tehran’s Imam Khomeini Airport and transferred to Evin Prison. After months of pretrial detention, she was sentenced by Branch 36 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Zargar, to eight years in prison on charges of “assembly and collusion through connection with the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran” and “propaganda against the state.”

On December 12, 2023, she was transferred to Evin Prison to serve her sentence and later relocated to Qarchak Prison. Her family and relatives report that the harsh prison conditions have severely aggravated her heart disease. Despite her critical condition, she has so far been denied access to adequate medical treatment.
